A practical installation plan starts with the new model and the kitchen it will fit into.
Send the model and the existing opening
Have the new dishwasher’s model, installation instructions and delivery date ready. Tell us whether this is a replacement in the same opening or a first-time installation. Cabinet dimensions, flooring changes and door clearance can affect the work.
Photographs of the existing appliance and accessible under-sink connections can help explain the setup. Leave the appliance connected and in place until the removal and installation plan is agreed; do not expose wiring for a picture.
Agree on what the installation includes
Discuss removal of the old machine, any required connection kit, the countertop or cabinet mounting method and access to the water shutoff. Confirm disposal of the old appliance separately when arranging the work.
Water, drainage and electrical requirements come from the new model’s instructions. A replacement may need different fittings or a different connection arrangement; existing hoses and mounting hardware should not be assumed reusable.
The final check goes beyond turning on the display
The machine needs secure mounting, correct leveling and properly routed connections. The installation check should include door movement, filling, draining and inspection for leaks under the manufacturer’s procedure. Keep the model documentation and work record.
If the dishwasher stops draining after a disposal replacement or other sink work, mention that timing. The dishwasher’s drain connection is part of the installation to inspect, not proof that its pump has failed.
If the old dishwasher might still be repairable
A cleaning, drying, noise or drainage complaint may be worth diagnosing before replacement. Our dishwasher repair guide covers those decisions and owner-guide care. The diagnostic visit is $125. The full $125 is credited toward the final repair cost. The full repair cost is determined after diagnosis.
