No heat is different from a long drying cycle
Check the selected cycle and temperature option in the owner guide. An air-only setting is different from a heated cycle. Tell us whether the drum turns, whether any warmth develops and whether the problem began suddenly or drying times gradually increased.
Gas, conventional electric and heat-pump models use different heating arrangements. A heating element is not the answer to every Samsung drying complaint. Diagnosis must also consider the equipment’s supply and airflow.
A Samsung code identifies an area to investigate
Write down the complete code or blinking-light pattern. Samsung distinguishes door, supply-voltage, temperature, heating and other messages; similar-looking letters can refer to different issues. Use the model’s guide and Samsung support page to interpret what you see.
A recurring code needs assessment. Do not keep cycling the power to suppress an overheating warning, and do not test live wiring or bypass a switch.
Squeals, thumps and grinding deserve a clear description
Tell us when the sound begins and whether it changes as the load moves. A foreign object, a drum-support problem and a drive fault require different work. A recording from ordinary operation can help identify the complaint without claiming a diagnosis.
Stop using the dryer if there is a burning smell, smoke, severe grinding or excessive heat. Do not continue running a stationary drum on a heated setting.
Keep appliance repair and vent maintenance clear
Clean the lint filter according to the model instructions and avoid overloading. A lint screen that looks clean does not establish that the entire exhaust route is clear. Restricted exhaust may contribute to long cycles or overheating on a vented dryer.

Choose a repair from the diagnosis, not a common-part list
The correct belt, roller, heater or control depends on the full model and the failed component. Ask what is included in the repair and whether another condition contributed to the failure. Parts availability and overall condition belong in a repair-versus-replacement decision.
Check purchase and warranty records if relevant. No fixed lifespan or generic national price range can decide the value of repairing your particular dryer.
